KHTS radio station was proud to host the 2014 KHTS 5th annual Home and Garden Show and Emergency Expo on March 29th and 30th. The show ran from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event had a total of 234 vendors and an estimated 8 thousand viewers attending, making it the biggest occasion of the year for our local radio station. The Home and Garden Show gained popularity by offering free prizes through raffles, and by providing a Kid Zone for family fun. This area featured many facets such as video games, a bounce house, building and gardening activities for the kids, face painting and other crafts.
They raffled off multiple rewards for those who participated in the festivities including two $100 resteraunt row packages, San Diego Zoo & Safari Park tickets for a family of four, as well as another family of four-pack for Aquarium of Pacific tickets. Saturday’s high attendance was due to the Emergency Expo, which featured several demonstrations such as an earthquake simulator provided by the LA County Fire Department.
Another was the LACFD’s “Jaws of Life” demonstration, which showed the tool they would use to extract a body from a car crash. Sunday peaked the curiousity of the public by hosting the first ever Arts and Crafts Fair, which promoted local artists who set up booths to share information about their products and what they made. Here are the featured photos of the event.
