Judith Cassis, a resident of SCV since 1996, has been active within the community via The SCV Chamber of Commerce and local business organizations. She was one of eleven founders of The SCV Business Group, Santa Clarita’s largest and most active networking group. She served as Vice President in 2002, and President of the group in 2003. As a clinical hypnotherapist and success coach, Judith works with business people and individuals, assisting them to move beyond perceived barriers to consciously create their lives and careers. She is nationally recognized as a master Firewalk Instructor, teaching the experience of firewalking (walking barefoot over burning embers) to support people as they move through their fear and dissolve counterproductive behavior patterns.
Co-owner of SCV Home Sweet Home, a unique welcome service that hand delivers gifts to newcomers, Judith finds another outlet for her business expertise. Experience gained through both radio and print advertising sales prompted Judith to seek out unique and affordable methods of promotion for the fading mom and pop business market. Recognizing small business’s need for higher visibility among newcomers pouring into the Santa Clarita Valley, Judith Cassis and her business partner Nicole Stinson hand deliver a beautiful gift bag stuffed with gifts from local businesses along with a Resource Directory to assist new neighbors in acclimating to the Santa Clarita Valley. The directory is also listed on their website at scvhomesweethome.com.
Judith Cassis is a freelance writer and author of the book When Life Knocks You Down, Get Up! Among the articles she has published locally, she wrote a weekly restaurant review for over 6 years. For several years, she has been teaching a Creative Writing class for The SCV Senior Center. She instructs and encourages seniors to write poetry, compile their memoirs, and even publish their writings. The class meets weekly, and is open to the community, boasting 5 published authors and many works in progress. As diverse as it is cohesive, the group is comprised of a ninety-one year old depression era radio-script writer, a thirty-something opera singer, and everything in between-including one writer who is completely blind.
Judith Cassis is married to Lee Cadena of 337 Entertainment and has two sons, Ryan, a student at College of The Canyons, and Gabriel an 8th grader at Highland Hall. They make their home in Valencia.
