Assemblyman Scott Wilk Letter

Hi KHTS Sacramento road trip travelers:

In California’s history only 3,754 people have served in the State Assembly and I’m honored to be your representative. I am also pleased to join KHTS in hosting our annual Sacramento road trip.

Our former State Assemblyman Keith Richman and KHTS owner Carl Goldman created this innovative annual trip eight years ago. Over the years, more than 500 community leaders have participated. They, like you have taken two precious days out of their busy work schedule to advocate on behalf of the most important issues impacting Santa Clarita, not for their personal benefit, but for the betterment of our Valley.

Keith and Carl’s vision back in 2005 was to allow Santa Clarita Community leaders to witness the inner-workings of their State Government, to exchange ideas on the most important issues impacting our Valley and to share what they learned on the trip with others. Eight years later, Santa Clarita is still the only community doing anything like this. The impact on other representatives is powerful.

I am pleased California State Controller John Chiang has accepted my invitation to be our keynote speaker on Monday night at our dinner. I know you will agree with me that our State budget is the most important issue impacting every facet of California.

If you are a return participant on this trip, I know you will continue to gain new insights. For those joining us for the first time, you will have a memorable two days. Our goal is you will share what you’ve learned with others in Santa Clarita so they too may gain a better understanding of what is going on in your State Capitol and those you touch will continue the dialogue on the most important issues impacting Santa Clarita.

I’d like to thank you for taking the time to join us this year and for sharing your precious time and ideas with us. I am truly honored you agreed to join us.

Sincerely,

Scott Wilk, California 38th District Assemblyman
