May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month!
Jack’s Angels Foundation is hosting a unique and first event of its kind, “ART FOR JACK, Celebrating Children’s Art”, featuring works from Professional, Amateur, Student, and Very Young Artists for Silent and Live Auction. Enjoy children’s art, exhibits from local artists, free art workshops for your children, and live entertainment including talented young musical artists, and professional musicians, and magic acts. Most importantly, 100% of our net proceeds benefit urgently needed research for DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Over 4000 children are diagnosed with a brain tumor each year; in children, malignant brain tumors are the leading cause of death from non-blood cell cancers. Little progress has been made in 30 years with the most devastating varieties of tumors, like DIPG which has a less than 1% survival rate. Funding for research is crucial for saving children’s lives and improving survivors’ quality of life.*

Event Highlights

FREE Children’s Art Workshops, including acrylic “Painting for Jack”; the children can take home their own masterpiece, which will be archived and viewable in Art for Jack’s online gallery June 1.
Exhibits of Fine Art by local artists
“Jack’s Young Artists” Perform: Crystal Marshall reads, “Percy the Cat and His Many Wonderful Sweaters”, Volume I, to be followed by book reading and signing; young musicians perform.
Magic Show, Teresa James, acclaimed singer/songwriter of “Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps”, and renown violinist Peter Marsh, plays Bach.
