Placerita Canyon Nature Center will be hosting their annual Open House and Family Festival on Saturday, May 11th from 10am-3pm. The event will take place at Placerita Canyon Natural Area 19152 Placerita Canyon Rd., Newhall, Ca. This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Year of the Snake”. We will have some fun activities concerning snakes as well as other creatures found in our area. Some of our activities include a treasure hunt, animal presentations, panning for “Fool’s Gold”, guided hikes, face painting, and informative exhibits on conservation, wildlife and local history. Admission and parking are free. Children’s crafts, face painting and panning for “fool’s gold” are available for a nominal fee.
