What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a unique adjunct to the modern healthcare system in our country. Chiropractic is the worlds largest drug free healing arts profession. Unlike the traditional medical approach, chiropractic uses the bodies natural abilities to heal itself. The chiropractic approach is to first find the cause of the problem, treat the cause, and educate the patient on how to maintain their body so that further problems do not arise. As a result, more and more people are choosing to see chiropractors to not only relieve their pain but also to help them maintain the health of the body.
It goes beyond being a method strictly for treating back pain. Chiropractic care is defined as the science and art, which utilizes the inherent recuperative powers of the body. It focuses on the relationship between the musculoskeletal structure of the body, particularly the spinal column, and the nervous system in the restoration and maintenance of health. This natural approach to healthcare doesn’t rely upon medication or surgery.
In 1993, the National Institutes of Health reported that between 12 and 15 percent of Americans are under the care of a chiropractor. Poll results released in January 1998 by Landmark Healthcare, Inc., showed that one in every five adults aged 55 to 64 has used chiropractic care.
What is ART?
Active Release technique (ART) is a patented non-invasive soft tissue technique used to treat problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. ART locates and breaks down adhesions caused by Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI’s). RSI’s or overuse injuries are soft tissue injuries that result when the soft tissues of the body become irritated and inflamed from overuse. As a result, the patient will often experience symptoms such as pain, swelling, decreased strength, tingling and numbness.

What is Massage?
Although when most people think of massage they think of relaxation, but they often don’t realize the therapeutic effects brought on by massage. In our Chiropractic office we utilize massage to further enhance treatment results by relaxing tight muscles and improving the flow of blood and lymph circulation. The relaxed state often achieved during and after massage has a positive effect on your overall physical condition.
