We invite you to attend the American Soldier Thank You Concert & StandStill Baseball Game on Saturday, July 18, 2009 starring The Temptations Review Featuring Dennis Edwards; Mike “Majik” Boyd – Las Vegas entertainer and Grammy-nominated recording artist, performing his #1 hit single “American Soldier Thank You (for all the things you do); recording artist Mr. Cuba Gooding Sr. – lead singer from The Main Ingredient, famous for hit recordings like “Everybody Plays the Fool” and “Just Don’t Want to Be Lonely”.
Hosted by KJLH DJ Aundrae Russell. Joining them will be contemporary recording artists Impromp2; the #1 Michael Jackson Understudy – Scorpio; pop recording artist Chelsea; recording artist Samona Cooke (daughter of Sam Cooke); the soulful sounds of Blinky Williams and the Hollywood Choir and others.
A portion of the net proceeds will benefit Blue Star Mothers of the Foothills and Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, Inc.
The all-day event will start with StandStill Baseball Exhibition games. StandStill Baseball is a newly designed baseball game that is played by 6 players opposing 6 players. The game is similar to baseball but is played on half the field. The rules have been adapted, changed or added to give StandStill Baseball its individuality from baseball. The game will be played and coached by former major leaguers and former professional ballplayers. Come out and meet World Series Boston Red Sox Pitcher Oil Can Boyd and LA Dodger greats Rudy Law, Lee Lacy, Tommy Davis, Darrell Thomas and Jay Johnstone.

The games will start at approximately 9:00am and 10:30am at Glendale Community College Baseball Field, 1601 Canada Bl., Glendale, CA 91208. The concert will start at approximately 1:00pm – the day will end by 8:00pm. Ice cold drinks, food and snacks will be available for purchase.
