Another Business Falls Victim To Economy

khts_businessnews3As the recession continues to grip the country into 2010, the effects are being felt throughout Santa Clarita, causing some large chain stores to close up shop.

It started with Mervyns, leaving a vacant hole at the center of town, and then struck most recently with Bristol Farms and Margo’s.

Ethan Allen, and Warehouse Discount Center have shut down their Santa Clarita stores as well.

Ethan Allen was an upscale furniture store located on Citrus Street in Valencia.  This design studio allowed clients to work with an interior designer to match furniture for their home or office.

The store closed on February 18, but there are a number of other Ethan Allen stores within the Los Angeles area.

Warehouse Discount Center closed its doors at the end of January.  This store was located on Soledad Canyon Road and offered its customers an alternative to large retailers when purchasing household appliances.
