It’s the Saturday before Christmas and we focus on the music of Marvin O’Dell and The Red Hot Rhythm Rustler’s new CD Too Hot To Handle.

About Our Guest Marvin O’Dell:
Marvin is recognized in the Western Music arena as a successful song writer and his original music is well-received and recorded by other performing artists. Named 2009 Western Music Association Songwriter of the Year, his production and recording effort, The Silver Screen Cowboy Project, features 19 of today’s finest Western recording artists and musicians on a 2-CD set. The Silver Screen Cowboy Project was awarded the prestigious 2009 WMA President’s Award. Marvin’s highly requested song, Jesus & Roy, was awarded the WMA’s 2009 Song of the Year. The CD inspired Marvin to create a live stage show around the songs of this award-winning CD. He now tours with The Red Hot Rhythm Rustlers band comprised of Audrey McLaughlin, Gale Rogers, Dawn Pett, Tom Boyer and himself, performing the Silver Screen Cowboy Project Show “Live” – a tribute music and multimedia presentation to the B-Western stars of the 30s, 40s and 50s.  The band also has the versatility of doing Western swing, classic Western tunes or contemporary cowboy songs.

He is the 2012 and 2007 Western Music Association’s DJ of the Year, and his first solo album, Letter to Molly, was nominated for a Western Music Association Western Album of the Year award.
