It’s the West of Horses, Family Stories, and History as Captured by JUNI FISHER

Juni Fisher calls in from Northern California. A returning guest, we catch up with this multi-talented, award winning singer/songwriter/performer/entertainer. Juni travels the country performing on small stages and large festival arenas. With family roots in California, she travels out our way a few times a year. She recently performed a benefit concert for the Riata Ranch. We talk about her relationship with her newest horse, Silk, and her newest CD, “Listen…To The Horse.” Tune in for this entertaining and enlightening hour with Juni, one of the top entertainers and songwriters in today’s West. She enthusiastically shares her passion for horses, music, and stories of the west and its people with great joy.

Bobbi Jean writes on OutWest’s website about her newest CD release, “Listen”
I’ve been looking forward to the release of Juni Fisher’s new CD, “Listen…To The Horse” and am not disappointed. Like all her CDs there are stories here, all you have to do is…Listen. And, like me, you’ll hit the replay button again and again. I’m not a horsewoman but Juni is and she presents her passion for horses in such a warm and loving way that I feel I have become a horsewoman. Juni’s songs aren’t songs, they are stories put to music, word pictures uploaded to your memory bank, and melodies that live in your heart.

At the moment, my favorites are her tribute to the farrier, “For Want of a Nail,” and “Fillinic” based on the true story of a special filly and her trainer, Greg Ward. I particularly enjoy the notes on the tracks as I like to know the back stories and what inspires the musician. If you are a horsewoman, this CD is for you. If you are a horseman, this CD is for you. If you are a Juni Fisher fan, this CD is for you. And – if you are none of these…just Listen and you will be!

We chat about:
*Her love for horses, and the influence they have had on her life
*Her newest horse, Silk, how they met and how she’s impacted her life
*The inspiration behind her newest CD, “Listen…To The Horse.” This CD has been nominated by the WMA for Western Album of The Year, and the title track has been nominated for Song of The Year. In addition, Juni has received 3 other nominations including Female Performer of The Year and Entertainer of The Year.
*She shares the back story to “Listen” and “Fly Without Leaving The Ground”
*Bobbi shares her thoughts on the CD “Listen” and one of her favorite songs from another of Juni’s CDs – Pearl White Jag from “Secret Chord”
*”Listen” and 2 of its songs has just made it through the first go-around of 2014 Grammy Award nominations in 5 categories!
*A nugget of advice for songwriters – “Write what you know.”
*Follow her on Facebook
*For her touring schedule and info –

Listen …To The Horse”
