Body Wellness: Have Diets Failed You?

Are you the typical person that continuously tries one diet after another? Have you followed a diet only to bounce back to your original weight or gain even more weight after ending a diet?

 

If this sounds familiar, it’s time for you to stop the dieting!!! This may sound crazy since we are constantly surrounded by media who talk about the need for dieting? Well, the simple truth is diets don’t work! Instead of dieting, consider making a Lifestyle Transition.

 

A “lifestyle transition” means learning to be a happier, healthier you, by learning how to eat. The reason diets don’t work is that they are a short term solution to a long term problem. We stick to a diet of restrictions, that cause us to lose weight, but once we reach our desired weight, we return to the old eating habits that originally lead us to be overweight. So, we gain the weight back.

 

We are all under increased stress from work and family time constraints, causing us to eat on the go to save both time and money. We resort to unhealthy alternatives to a home cooked meal, and often binge eat to make us feel good and relieve stress. Consequently, we gain weight. As a result of this weight gain our health suffers and we end up with an array of health problems, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and back pain. So we diet.

 

Instead of getting to the root of the problem we do a quick fix “diet” and move on until the weight returns, never solving the actual problem. So, what is the problem and how do we find a solution? The problem is our lack of education and poor eating habits. The solution is to learn how to eat correctly through proper education and support.
