Are you one of those people that begins every year by making a New Year’s resolution that is all too soon forgotten. Do you always promise that this is the year you will get healthy by joining a gym, or going on some crazy diet? After all, everyone knows that it is important to take care of your health.
But, maybe it is time to try something different. Not to say that exercise and diet are not important, but instead maybe it is time to try something that can improve your overall health by improving your nervous system function. So, you may ask what am I talking about? The answer: Chiropractic Care. Chiropractic care has been used for centuries, and in fact today it is the #1 choice for alternative healthcare.
Although, most people think of chiropractic as care for injuries, or pain, many do not realize that it can be much more. Chiropractic has been used throughout time as a part of preventative wellness care, just like getting your teeth cleaned, many people receive chiropractic care to maintain the health of their spine. These people receive care in order to prevent problems from occurring rather than trying to “fix” a problem that has already occurred.
The goal of chiropractic is to stimulate your body’s own resource, the nervous system, to help it heal and function better. Rather than just relieving the symptoms of a problem, chiropractic treats the underlying cause of the problem itself. In relation to wellness care the body is treated in order to remove any nervous system interference in the body’s self-regulating and self-healing function which is controlled by the nervous system. When the nervous system is impaired, tissues and organs throughout the body many not work correctly. This alone can be an underlying cause of many health problems.
As a result chiropractic care can be used to prevent future problems and help manage small problems before they become bigger. Chiropractic care allows you to be at your best physically which in turn helps you feel better, allowing you to become more active. It has also been shown that chiropractic wellness care is cost effective. In fact research shows that it costs less for you to stay well by avoiding preventable health problems, than to pay to get well. In fact it has been shown that often times chiropractic costs less than conventional medicine. So, if you are looking for a different approach to your healthcare in 2009, consider trying chiropractic as part of your new approach to living a healthier, happy life.
