REDCAT, Cal Arts’ Downtown Center for Contemporary Arts, commemorates its 10th year as a dynamic and innovative performance facility serving the Los Angeles arts community. REDCAT’s 10th anniversary season begins Sept. 21 and runs through Jan. 18.

The 10th anniversary season culminates with the Radar L.A. International Festival of Contemporary Theater 2013, a week- long festival starting on Sept. 24 with 100 live theatre performances featuring international artists hailing from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Los Angeles, and includes premiers of local and international collaborations. Notable performances include Cal Arts’ Prometheus Bound (Los Angeles) , Luis Alfaro’s St. Jude (Los Angeles), Mariano Pensotti’s Sometimes I Think, I Can See You(Argentina), Lemi Ponifasio/MAU’s Stones In Her Mouth (New Zealand) and much more.
REDCAT’s 10th anniversary season continues with a number of stimulating and inimitable events ranging from a series of enticing film/video presentations, contemporary music and jazz events, stimulating conversations, and a mix of dance, theater and interdisciplinary Los Angeles and international performances.
Additionally, REDCAT is expected to offer a multitude of concert series, electronic music presentations, premiers of multiple acclaimed documentaries and films, and much more through out the months of November and December.
The final installation of the 10th anniversary season is Pablo Bronstein’s installation premiering on Jan. 18 which delves into the history of architecture via the study of social lifestyles.
“The fall program offers you a range of experiences that exemplify the unique role and contributions of REDCAT and CalArts to the vibrancy of the region’s cultural ecology,” said Mark Murphy, REDCAT executive director.

Located inside the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall complex in downtown Los Angeles, REDCAT houses a theater, a gallery space and a lounge. Location/Parking: REDCAT is located in downtown Los Angeles inside the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex with a separate entrance at the corner of West 2nd and Hope Streets. Parking is available in the Walt Disney Concert Hall parking structure. $9 event rate or $5 for vehicles entering after 8:00 pm on weekdays.

THE GALLERY | REDCAT’s Gallery presents five major exhibitions each year, and publishes artist books and catalogues. Admission to the Gallery is FREE.
