On Thursday, January 17th, The Child & Family Center hosted a panel presentation about dealing with trauma and tragedy. The main focus was how to recognize signs of trauma in youth and then how to help cope them cope with it. Another focus of the presentation was mental illness; how to recognize it, how to deal with it, and how to act towards others who are afflicted. The speakers are professionals in their specific fields; Susan Wood, Gabriela Ochoa DelGaudio, Julie Tunick, and Kelly Smith. The Child and Family Center has two locations in the Santa Clarita Valley, one on Centre Pointe Parkway and one on Lyons Ave. They provide mental health, behavioral and education services to children, adults and families. The seminar was open to the public and free to all guests.
