COC Holiday Jazz Concert Take Stage Friday Night

cocjazzStart the holiday season in style at the 2011 Holiday Jazz Concert, presented by the College of the Canyons Music Department.

Featuring an array of classic holiday tunes and crowd favorites, the concert will feature performances by the two COC Jazz Combo bands, as well as the COC Studio Jazz Ensemble, which will perform under the direction of COC music director KC Manji.

In all, 35 student musicians will take part in the concert. Accompanying the Studio Jazz Ensemble’s session will be a performance by vocalist Elizabeth Fellows.

“This year’s Holiday Jazz Concert is the perfect way for all community members to welcome in the joys of the holiday season,” Manji said. “All of the music we’ll be playing is easily recognizable and has been specially selected so that audiences members will be able to tap their toes and sing along with the band.”

The 2011 Holiday Jazz Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, on the main stage of the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) at College of the Canyons.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for COC students and senior citizens.
