Listen to all of Families in Action’s podcast’s here!

Families in Action with Cary Quashen air on AM-1220 KHTS Mondays from 12pm-1pm.

On today’s show they talked about the SCV Principal for a day.  Business leaders, community members and parents are invited to spend the morning shadowing a local public school principal or district administrator by registering for the upcoming Principal for a Day event, sponsored annually by the SCV Education Foundation. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, Feb 8th from 9 am – 1pm. The day kicks-off with each participant spending a couple of hours with their chosen principal or district leader, followed by a catered luncheon with all principals, district administrators, and sponsors attending.

They also spoke about the walk that Action Family to raise awareness for a new California Good Samaritan law should reduce the number of drug overdose deaths.  The law gives legal protection to people who witness an overdose and call 911.  Action Family Counseling asks, “Would you let a friend die?”

Families in Action is brought to you by Action Family counseling.

Action Family Counseling’s philosophy is to introduce concepts that enforce the practice of a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment. Action believes in helping individuals develop healthy behavior patterns in all areas of their life, including, family, school, relationships, social and living skills. We believe such changes are crucial in a successful transition back to a healthy lifestyle. Action strongly emphasizes family involvement to create a support network both during and after treatment.

Action also has Parent & Teen Support groups which meet every week. The ACTION Parent & Teen Support Program is a gathering of concerned parents who meet to offer each other support and practical solutions to problems. A parent who has been trained as an ACTION group facilitator, who has experienced just how tough it is to raise a teenager in this day and age, leads each group. And best of all ACTION attendance is free of charge.
