Families in Action: July 7, 2014

Bob Sharits shared a very personal story at the beginning of the very first segment. Bob wanted to share an experience which fortunately turned out to be fine, however, had the possibility of going very sour. So he really wanted to take the moment he had, to share what he went through in hopes listeners will learn from his mistake and prevent any unnecessary headaches. Without skipping a beat, Bob jumped right in to some of his personal background, which he noted, was filled with fitness – in particular, hiking. So last weekend, Bob decided to go on a little hike behind Towsley Canyon. In his adventurous and curious state, Bob decided to wander off the trail. This soon led to meandering off into the complete unknown and soon found himself hours behind schedule. Separated from people and unable to join the trail he was previously on, he had to find a new path to return to safety and in his absence, many of his friends and family began looking for him in earnest. Soon, everyone on his facebook was aware Bob may have been missing, but eventually, in the end – Bob Sharits returned home to his wife and family, albeit slightly sunburned but another day wiser. He ended his tale with, “never go off the path, and especially without telling anyone”. They soon jumped into talking about the social, and physical dangers of smoking cigarettes.
