Friday Matinee – March 29, 2013
We have the Santa Clarita Men of Harmony here in the studio today! If only you could see the amount of class stuffed into this tiny room, they’re so snazzy in their uniforms. These gentleman are a local barbershop style quartet, serving the community in some amazingly creative ways. The Men of Harmony actually deliver songs to loved one for you and even play all around town, including right here on your Hometown Station KHTS AM-1220! What’s interesting about this group of guys is their dedication to the art and culture, these men put in vocal work every day of the week and are always recruiting, so if you’re thinking of joining a quartet, you know exactly where to look.
Now we have John Direberger who is an a amazing violinist. A business major at the Master’s College, and a musician at heart, we are going to hear some beautiful music from this talented young man. John has been playing since he was just four years old, encouraged by his parents and while as a youth not always enthusiastic about playing, has blossomed into an fluent and talented musician. And don’t forget, John plays at the Patios in the Westfield Mall on the weekends. Aside from his recent contract signed with the Mall, John is also active with his school, The Master’s College. Every Tuesday and Thursday he is rehearsing with the other 20-30 members of the orchestra. John is also a Santa Clarita transplant, originally from Minnesota, but now with us. We are very thankful to have John in our community and pursuing your talents
