Welcome to Friday Matinee right here on Santa Clarita’s Hometown Station, AM 1220 KHTS. I am T. Katz and here with my co-host George Cummings.
Studio Engineer Larold Rehbun joins Friday Matinee…
We have a very rock and roll themed show today. Our first guest on the show Larold Rehbun. Larold, tell us a little bit about yourself. Well I started in the music industry in New York and I got asked to build a studio in Woodstock. How did your family feel about you leaving school and all this? I won an Emmy last year, so that tends to calm them down.
The first 25 years where in rock in roll and now i’m working in TV. The way technology is going, I started working in the X-Files in my bedroom in my pajamas.
Some Friends who were working for Jimmy Hendrix and needed a studio, so they were looking for someone who knew what they were doing, and instead, they ended up with me. All I knew was that there was a room for the musicians and the room for the equipment and some glass in between. Sadly, Hendrix died two months later so that all fell apart. I got to meet some local musicians and I got to learn a lot about the industry.

Our next guest is Jimmy Steinfeldt. Jimmy is the author of Rock ‘N’ Roll Lens. It started as a hobby, but it eventually became a profession. I took my $100 camera and took it to a Stevie Nicks concert and when they came back from the lab, even I was shocked.
