This month, join the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library as they host two exciting events for book enthusiasts of all ages.
On Saturday, May 10, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m., community members are invited to a FREEAuthor Event with Margaret Dilloway at the Valencia library branch, located at 23743 W. Valencia Blvd. This well-renowned author will speak about her debut novel, How to Be an American Housewife,and her newest work, The Care and Handling of Roses with Thorns, a recent winner of the Best Women’s Fiction Award by the American Library Association. Light refreshments will be served and copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. No RSVP is required to attend.
Sponsored by Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library, author events are part of a series of programs designed to build excitement and interest in books and reading through workshops with published writers.
In addition to the author event with Margaret Dilloway, the Friends will also host a book auction at all three library branches beginning Monday, May 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. and continuing through Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. The auction will feature a wonderful selection of rare and collectable books.
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is an active group of residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library. All of the proceeds from the events, fundraising efforts, and programs sponsored by the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library go towards providing new materials and programming.
