Gold Star Soldiers Holiday Tree Celebration Hosted At City Hall

Community members are invited to join Mayor Pro Tem Bob Kellar and the Santa Clarita City Council for an open house reception honoring the families of Gold Star Soldiers on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the first floor lobby of City Hall.

The open house will pay tribute to Santa Clarita Gold Star families, who are commemorated on a holiday tree in the lobby of City Hall, which was part of the annual Festival of Trees fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley.

“The holidays are a nice time of year to give thanks and pay tribute to those who have given so much for our country and freedom. I encourage residents to join the City of Santa Clarita as we honor our local soldiers and their families,” said Mayor Pro Tem Bob Kellar.

The evening will include comments from Mayor Pro Tem Kellar at 6:45 p.m. and light refreshments. The Gold Star Tree is sponsored by Mayor Pro Tem Bob Kellar and the City of Santa Clarita, Larry Rasmussen, the Auto Dealers Association, and Gary Condie.
