Kern County Raceway Park is expected to begin its second season Saturday night
The Kern County Raceway Park is set to hold the first race of their second season Saturday night, according to a press release from the Park.

30 teams are registered to compete at the track west of Bakersfield with a prize of $3,500 going to the winner, according to the release.
Most of Saturday night’s racers come from California, with two from Idaho, two from Arizona and one from Washington, according to the release.
Jim Petit, winner of the SRL S2 Series in 2013, will be racing at the event along with 2012 series winner, Derek Thorn, according to the release.
The SRL S2 Tour Series event is the first of four at the speedway in 2014, with dates in May, June, and November.
The SRL Legends races and INEX Bandoleros races will also pay track points as the first rounds for the 2014 track championship. Early Legends track championship contenders, such as Eric Olson and Eddie Garone, are expected to compete, while Tyler Bannister will begin his 2013 Bandolero championship defense, according to the release.
Tickets for the race are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for those 65 and over. Active military members and children under 15 enter for free. Tickets should be available for purchase in advance or at the track.
