KHTS AM-1220 is Santa Clarita’s premier radio station. The Santa Clarita Valley is in northern Los Angeles County (part of LA Metro), covering the communities of Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country, Stevenson Ranch, Castaic and Acton/Agua Dulce. Our signal also travels through the Antelope Valley, through the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster.

Santa Clarita’s mountainous geography blocks off most of the Los Angeles radio signals. Since the Santa Clarita Valley also contains the second-largest white collar industrial park in Southern California, the majority of Santa Clarita residents live, work and play in our community.

KHTS AM-1220 super-serves our market by with a mixture of local news, traffic and weather in morning and afternoon drives, along with CNN National News and a mixture of mainstream adult contemporary music, featuring artists such as Taylor Swift, Rob Thomas, Kelly Clarkson and John Mayer. It’s the perfect target audience: adults 25-64.

filmstrip_khtsaroundtwonThroughout the day and into the afternoons, KHTS AM-1220 features a mixture of specialty local talk shows on news, families, health, finance and local characters, including Non-Profit Spotlight, Families in Action, Truth Helps, Aging With Power, Don & Gino Real Estate Show, Total Financial Safer Money Hour, Senior Hour, Alive & Well, Santa Clarita Business Hour, Friday Matinee, The Real Side and Around the Barn.

In addition, KHTS AM-1220 is the local radio outlet for Los Angeles Dodgers baseball and Los Angeles Kings hockey and the only place to hear local high school and College of the Canyons football and basketball games.

KHTS AM-1220 broadcasts from its home studios on Soledad Canyon Road at Camp Plenty Road as well as its satellite, the community kiosk at the entrance to the Westfield Valencia Town Center. The kiosk is located in the center of the valley’s most heavily-trafficked locations.

The Santa Clarita Valley is one of the fastest-growing upscale communities in the United States. Although it is part of Los Angeles County, Santa Clarita is not just a bedroom community. It is headquarters to many of the world’s largest and most prestigious corporations, from high tech aerospace and biotech, to leaders in the entertainment and travel industries.

Santa Clarita is an area of promise and growth. It is home to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor, Cal Arts, The Master’s College, College of the Canyons and the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center. The film industry has been using Santa Clarita locations since the days of silent cowboys Tom Mix and William S. Hart. Gene Autry’s Melody Ranch is still an active set, as is Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch and a soon to be major Disney studio expansion. Television classics from Lassie and Gunsmoke to today’s hits NCIS and Desperate Housewives use Santa Clarita’s various looks for their backdrops. Over the past twelve months, over 250 film, television shows and location commercials have been filmed in Santa Clarita.

Santa Clarita means upscale families and growth. The valley’s current population is over 280,000, with a current average annual household income of more than $82,386. It’s a community with a solid economy, filled with young families in new homes. They have the spending power and the need and desire to buy what they want and to provide for their families.

Our radio station reaches over 40,000 Santa Clarita residents per week. About two-thirds of our listening is done in automobiles, while parents are driving around our Valley, dropping their kids off at school, soccer practice and running errands.

The KHTS website, www.hometownstation.com, is the Valley’s leading commercial website. Close to 100,000 unique visitors visit our website each month, viewing over 70,000 pages PER DAY! They are clicking onto our website for the latest local news, traffic and to feel a part of our community.

Our newest addition to the KHTS marketing mix is our daily email Santa Clarita news briefs, emergency email and text alerts, Restaurant Row Newsletter, Top Things To Do in Santa Clarita Newsletter, Hometown Recipes, Design Tips Newsletter and Health & Beauty Newsletter. These are read by almost 10,000 local residents interested in news about our Valley. Hundreds of more loyal fans of these emails are being added every week.
