Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – April 1, 2013

What is self leadership to you, Alex said.

There are a lot of people that come up with great ideas and not seeing those come true. A great self leader will make those happen and that is what a self leader is to me. With my better half Jeri Seratti-Goldman we can lead here at the radio station, Goldman said.

To me you have to be able to experience life and take charge and get yourself out there and reinvent yourself to get to the next level, Alex said.

There are some challenges out there and to grow you have to get out there and face your fears.

A lot of us have comfort zones, and we all like to be safe, Goldman said. If you don’t push it you can never grow, test the limits but don’t take it too far.

I wanted to talk about comfort zones and what needs to be done to get away from those.

Some of those are universal sometimes, fear of embarrassing myself, rejection, failure.

It is amazing that we put up walls for ourselves and it hurts us because we create a self-limiting beliefs that rejection is something that catastrophic.

You have to create moments and by stepping out of the comfort zone you can only grow. You can’t be afraid to talk to the pretty girl, talk to your boss.

When you are young you have experiences when you might feel rejection or embarrassment and you put up a wall and that carries with you to adulthood and it gets that much harder to overcome.

You have to be open to possibilities, Because if you can be open you can grow but when you close yourself you are shutting down your growth or ability to grow.

You have to remind yourself that you are powerful and need to use that.
