Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – December 30, 2013
On today’s show, Alex Urbina sits down and talks with an SCVi Facilitator about the school and programs that SCVi Charter offers. Also about reflection and how that can benefit the kids at an early age.
Alex welcomes, Elsa Williamson, an SCVi facilitator, who is the leader of college prep for the 11th and 12th graders.
What I like about SCVi is that you take the same result as other schools but get there in a different way so it doesn’t seem threaten, Alex said.
One thing that I can commend our school about our kids is that they can communicate and they can transfer their ideas and not just keep it in, Elsa said.
What we want to teach our kids about life is that it is more than just facts, Elsa said.
A key component to self-awareness is to take a step back and reflect on your life, Alex said.
I think reflection is important for the students and adults, Elsa said. It makes you stop and focus on the present and what you are doing and what you are going to do next. It keeps you on track.
Reflection is part of the learning process. The process is just as important as the outcome. We strive on reflection at SCVi.
