This is Life Leadership with Alex Urbina, right here on your Home Town Station, AM 1220 KHTS. Today I have my lovely co-host, Wendy Amara.
Welcome to Life Leadership with your host Alex Urbina, right here on Santa Clarita’s Home Town Station, AM 1220, KHTS. This show is brought to you by SCVI Charter School. Today I am joined by Amber Raskin, Director of SCVI. I am talking about community leadership, and you brought with you a young man who has distinguished himself as a young leader at your school right? Yes I have. Yes I have brought Evan Decker. So Even what does Community Leadership mean to you?
Well ever since I was ten I have been a part of the scv historical society. So you are out in the community putting on events? Yes. That is good, you are being proactive.
How did you get involved? Well I have always loved presidential history, and that has just spilt into the Santa Clarita History. Talk a little bit about Santa Clarita school history. Well we have a lot of historical land marks in Santa Clarita. First off we have the Oak of the Golden Dream. This happened six years before the discovery in Stutters mill. How have you come to know all of this?

Well, I have done my research. On our webpage, we have our own historical archive. I have noticed at SCVi, there is a large emphasis on research and using technology. Ya we encourage them to fallow their passions. Even is using his passion as a personal project at his school, and the kids need to know how to properly do research and know what is reliable information and what is not reliable.
So Evan, how important is it to build a friendship with the people of the City? It is very important. So you take the knowledge that you gain from these people and then you relay it onto other people. Yes, people call me the story teller. The information I give to the tours at the historical society is important.
Story telling is a big part of being a leader in life, you need to get people hooked to what you are saying. We will be right back on your Home Town Station, AM 1220 KHTS.
