Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – July 21, 2014
On Today’s show host Alex Urbina and special co-host Kim Goldman, Executive Director of the SCV Youth Project sit down and discuss bullying and cyber-bullying and the ongoing Twitter postings happening in the Santa Clarita Valley.
In the Santa Clarita Valley on a private twitter page, many posted nude photos and posted secrets and information about people.
Sheriff’s Department officials are investigating Twitter accounts posting naked pictures reportedly of Santa Clarita Valley high school boys and girls.
Known as SCV_Purge, the account posted nearly two dozen photos Wednesday night, with posts including pictures with captions identifying Santa Clarita Valley high school students.

With this going on how do parents connect with their kids in this day and age, Alex said.
“I’ve spoken with a lot of parents and they do not want to ask about their internet usage and things of that nature because they do not want to infringe on their privacy,” Goldman said.
I tell the parents that they must know what their kids are doing, not be over their shoulder but be aware of the social media and know what apps their kids are using.
Kids today are very savvy and parents need to be as well.
