Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – November 11, 2013
On today’s show Alex and Wendy talked about be worried and dealing with people that are always in the worried state.
A lot of the time I deal with the “what if” state, Wendy said. A lot of clients come to me and say what if this happens, what if that happens, and they are causing harm to themselves both mentally and physically with the future and not living in the now.
That was put so good, Alex said. People are living in the future and that future they think they might have might not even happen. An example is when people think about paying bills and how to pay, they are causing days of stress that doesn’t need to be there.
I went online to check out the definition of worry, and it said worry means thoughts and outcomes that you create of future events of a negative nature. So people are creating negative thoughts and feelings of things that might not even happen.
However worrying is not all bad, there is a thin line between concern and worrying. But when and where does someone cross that line.
Healthy worrying might be putting on your seat belt or getting health insurance. You are concerned but not worrying about it.
The other extreme is protecting yourself and not living life. A little bit of worry is needed, however you have to build a solution and then let it go.
Example drive the speed limit and let it go, do not continue to only focus on not going over the speed limit. Let stuff go.
