Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – November 18, 2013
On today’s show Alex and Wendy talk with facilitator and Director of SCvi Charter School in Santa Clarita about the events SCVi Charter has planned for the holidays and what the holidays truly mean and how they are relaying that message.
At SCVi Charter we had an event that brought all the cultures together and celebrated everyones culture and broke bread with one another.
I think you really learn a lot about a person when you share a meal with them and connect with their culture, Alex said.
Last week, Alex and Wendy discussed worrying and the topic has come up again.
I think thanksgiving is a time to be more grateful in the moment and what if we had thanksgiving everyday, what would that look like, ALex said.
On facebook, there’s a campaign to write one thing you are grateful for and I noticed that I have been focusing on the bad and not so much on the good and I think we are doing great, a SCVi Facilitator said.
Well I want to talk about focus and what it means, Alex said. I am not saying to never look at the bad but to evaluate rather than stay on something bad or negative. Focus and observing are two different things.
