SDC (Special Education) students in Saugus Union School District’s Regionalized Autism Program who cannot participate in PTA’s school activities such as field trips, assemblies, Reading Night and other fun events at school have been participating in Music Therapy.

Rodney Dong, from Dolce Music has been scheduled for monthly one hour visits for Emblem’s SDC students. This kind of therapy is enjoyed immensely by the students. Music Therapy embraces the motivating and structural properties of music to create an effective and rich learning environment. SDC students in Music Therapy engage in speech & communication, auditory integration, motor & physical development, social & and emotional awareness and finally it enriches cognitive development. EmblemAcademy will deliver this successful program every year as it has been a huge hit with teachers and students.

Their largest supporter, Jeff Katz of Kona Ice assisted Emblem’s PTA to raise $1400 to fund the program last year. Kona Ice is a proud sponsor once again for Music Therapy.
