Thursday nights will heat up in Santa Clarita when Thursdays @ Newhall returns to Old Town Newhall on March 6, 2014. Several sizzling events are planned for Thursday nights from March to October, including a weekly rotation of Art SLAM, J.A.M. Sessions and SENSES. 

Thursdays @ Newhall are unlike any other event in Santa Clarita. With Main Street serving as the backdrop, each week’s entertainment kicks off with exciting new themes and hands-on activities for the community.   

On the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Art SLAM will capture the attention of guests with large interactive art installations designed by local artists, as well as monthly themed galleries on Main Street.  For its return on Thursday, March 6, Art SLAM will feature work from various female artists in honor of Women’s History Month.

The interactive musical movement J.A.M. Sessions will debut on Main Street on Thursday, March 13.  This FREE series will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, featuring interactive demonstrations by various performing arts groups. The schedule includes: Hip Hop Dance with Versa-Style Dance Company on March 13; Balinese Dance and Musicwith CalARTS Balinese Ensemble on April 10; Bluegrass with Randy Torno Bluegrass Jam School onMay 8; and Japanese Folk Dance with Christine Inouye and Minyo Station on June 12. SENSES will be the talk of the town once again when it transforms Main Street into a themed block party from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on every third Thursday of the month. The popular event will shake up Newhall when it returns on Thursday, March 20 with a Roaring Twenties theme, complete with Vaud & The Villains, a 19 piece New Orleans Orchestra and cabaret show. Thousands of residents are anticipated to fill the streets of Old Town Newhall for live music, gourmet food trucks, art deco activities, contests and more, creating one of the best sensory experiences in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Residents can also save on gas by traveling to Thursdays @ Newhall on Santa Clarita Transit, which offers several routes and services that make it easy and affordable to visit Old Town Newhall.
