Pony on the Porch, by Whitney Acree

Good Morning KHTS listeners.

Hi, my name is Whitney Acree and I am a 4th grader in Mrs. Maxwell’s class at Mint Canyon Elementary School in the Sulphur Springs School District.

I’ll be reviewing Pony on the Porch, written by Ben M. Baglio, and illustrated by Shelagh McNicholas. It is 142 pages long.

This story is about a girl named Mandy, her friend James, and a pony named Prince.  Prince had to be sold then a girl named Susan came to town.  She was Prince’s new owner.  Susan was going to a jumping contest with Prince, but he had a disease.  Then Mandy saved him from dying, and Prince and Mandy were friends forever.

I liked this book because Prince was a beautiful pony and I like ponies.  Also, Mandy saved his life and it made me feel good.

Young readers would enjoy it because it was exciting and there were lots of animals in it.
