This time on the Power Woman Business Center Show, Bill Miranda and Patricia Gracia are surrounded by beautiful people. Gloria Mercado-Fortine and Bruce Fortine are these beautiful people and they are an amazing couple that creates greater futures for the community of Santa Clarita. Gloria Mercado-Fortine is currently the President of the William S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board, but is now running for her rightful position in City Council. Bruce Fortine is part of the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees and they have both been an essential part of the growth of Santa Clarita. Gloria is one of the board members of the PowerWomanBusinessCenter, her and Patricia work on creating jobs and greater community. This organization was created and founded in the year 2009, so this is the 2 year anniversary of the organization. Call the PowerWomenBusinessCenter at (800) 989-5313. We have a lady that truly believes she can fly, Gloria Mercado-Fortine. Bruce explains that Gloria was actually a sky diver and has been through 532 jumps! Gloria is running to be a part of City Council. The City Council is an important entity that has a responsibility to set policy and to hire a city manager and CEO. It’s like being on a Governing Board and sets the tone for the leadership of the city. Gloria was born and raised in Santa Clarita and comes from a certain prospective and has personally seen it grow. She loves her community and all of the changes. Gloria remembers and loves the free space of her old ranch, but appreciates the diversity and changes of our community. Gloria speaks Spanish perfectly, understands Latino culture, family views, and knows how important the Latino community is to the Santa Clarita Valley. Gloria wants to be that link to engage the Latino population, so that they can take on more government, more leadership, and take this city to the next level. Gloria graduated from HartHigh School and the school forever takes a special place in her heart.
