Registration Begins For Downed Officers Support Ride

khts_inthecommunity2Registration has opened for the 15th Annual Downed Officers Support Ride, an event cosponsored by the City of Santa Clarita and other local businesses. The event will be held Sunday, August 22, to benefit the families of law enforcement and firefighters throughout Southern California who lost their lives in the line of duty.

All bikes and vehicles are welcome to participate in the ride that will escort participants through Santa Clarita and end at the Mann Bio Medical Park.  Emilio Rivera from the FX television show “Sons of Anarchy” will be the grand marshal. There will be a vendor area, DJ, law enforcement displays and merchandise for purchase.

“I encourage everyone to show their support for the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty,” siad Mayor Laurene Weste. “This is a worthy cause that the City is proud to be a part of.”

Registration is $25 per person and $35 per couple; it includes lunch and a ride pin. Pre-registration is available through August 20 and on-site registration will be held from 7:30-9:30 a.m., August 22, at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.
