  • Visit the San Diego Zoo June 27 through Sept 7 for an all-new nighttime show as well as musical entertainment, costumed characters, and, of course, the thrill of seeing our animals in a whole new light, including the all-new Elephant Odyssey.

  • The Zoo stays open until 9 p.m. each day during Nighttime Zoo. Evening activities begin at 3:30 p.m.

  • The Harry and Grace Steele Elephant Odyssey combines the roaring good time of a zoo with the immersion experience of a museum by recreating California 12,000 years ago: an untamed landscape of large predators and pachyderms.

  • The 7.5-acre exhibit features living relatives, such as elephants, lions and California condors, of animal species that dotted the Southern California landscape during the Pleistocene.

  • Free-flying birds, dazzling lights, and memorable music are all part of Nighttime Zoo’s evening show, Soar: A Symphony in Flight. This brand-new feathered extravaganza features a colorful variety of birds, including a harpy eagle, macaw, Eurasian eagle owl, Andean condor and more, as you’ve never seen them before.

  • Step right up to Dr. Zoolittle’s “Science Circus” in the Children’s Zoo! Dr. Zoolittle shares the fun of the science that is all around us with this engaging circus theme. Warning: Things may fly, float, amaze, and explode!

  • Don’t miss “Vine to Vine,” two women dressed as vines who entwine around each other to create elegant and intriguing shapes, emerging and leaping away to blend in with their environment.

  • Little Jackie Paper and Puff the Magic Dragon, portrayed by marionettes, return to the magical land of Honalee, battling a pirate ship as they help a king and his daughter.
