Sandy Koufax (12/30/1935 to Present)
Played for Brooklyn Dodgers and
Los Angeles Dodgers from 1955-1966.

Sandy Koufax had 4 no-hitters, pitched a perfect game in 1965, made 4 All-Star performances, was the National League MVP in 1963. Koufax won the Cy Young award 3 times, pitched in 4 Worlds Series and was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.

On September 9th, 1965,  Dodger’s pitcher Sandy Koufax was about to go down in the history books. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Koufax was one pitch away from completing a perfect game.

During the mid-sixties, Koufax’s blazing fastball made him the most dominating pitcher in baseball history. He won 25 games three times, captured five straight ERA titles, and in 1965, the same year he pitched his perfect game, Koufax set a new standard with 382 strikeouts. Koufax led the Dodgers to four World Series. Sandy Koufax, truly a Dodger legend.
