KHTS News Director Perry Smith wants you to keep informed about what is going on in the valley. Perry Smith had special guests Richard E. Gould, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services and Phil Lantis, City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events Administrator to talk about the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival.

This year will be the 20th Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival and it takes us back to our rich Western heritage with modern touches.  The “Festival has always delivered a one-of-a-kind event, multi-day lineup of music, food, entertainment and activities for Western enthusiasts of all ages”.  There will be western music & poetry, tour of the Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio, shopping & entertainment, activities for the kids and the famous Cowboy Festival Peach Cobbler.

Perry, Richard and Phil talked about everything related to the Cowboy Festival. The events that led up to the event, what will happen this weekend at the event, and some of the things you will need to know if you are going to the event. Parking, prices, who will be performing and much more.

They also spoke about the AMGEN Tour of California Bike Race. Which is the United States Version of the Tour de France. This race will bring the biggest and best cyclists in the world.
