The Gazette Radio Hour- Friday, February 21, 2014
Global warming, permits, and billboards lead of the show with the duos RANT!
Doug and John take a break from talking politics and speak to Miss Classifieds about the most interesting items in the local classifieds, along with the phone numbers to follow up on those unique pieces.
Mr. Music talks about artists coming to town as well as interesting national acts. Celo will be opening for Lionel Ritchie, Pat Benatar will be touring with Cher.
Ed Bernstein talks about some of the candidates for city council. There are currently 13 to chose from and Doug and John try to find out which topics will get voters off their couch and to the voting polls. Some topics include the many billboards throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
Josh Heath has written many articles about these billboards and discusses some of the laws that may affect the new digital billboards, and the backlash federal highway funds being withheld, not to mention the environmental impacts to the closest neighborhoods. The outcome will be decided upon by this coming tuesday the 25th. When pressed for an answer, Josh seems to believe that the issue may be tabled for a later date, and if that should happen, may fall off the table all together.
Mr Sports joins the show to talk about the basketball all-star game and its lack of defense, and the lackluster moves at the trade deadline and his mid season picks for the college basketball final four.
