Santa Clarita Gazette Radio Hour – February 5, 2016

Doug and John open the show discussing last night’s Democratic debate, the first one-on-one between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

The guys are joined by KHTS News Director Heather Harbin, who updated the guys on the latest news from the Santa Clarita Valley. Ms. Harbin delivered news regarding a Canyon High School teacher who was suspended in October after allegedly having undisclosed relations with a female student. She also informed the guys of a lockdown involving three Newhall area schools after reports of an individual with a gun in his waistband was seen walking near the area.

Doug and John are also joined by Kevin Korenthal from the Forged by Fire Foundation and Alan Ferdman, who has decided to run for Santa Clarita City Council once again. The guys discuss the prospect and issues regarding the opening of a Laemmle Theatre in Downtown Newhall.

About the Forged by Fire Foundation

The Forged by Fire Foundation seeks to be a network of traumatic injury survivors and service providers that provide resources and mentorship to recent and legacy survivors of traumatic injury and limb-loss/paralysis. We endeavor to seek out and assist people whose lives have been impacted by a serious physical injury. Examples of which would be car crash survivors, veterans, survivors of animal attacks, assault victims, severe sports related injuries and anyone else who has survived a severe physical injury to their person and who seek to rise above those injuries to have an active life.

In the show’s final segment, Kyle Jellings, Mr. Sports, and Brandon Miree join the guys on-air to discuss the biggest news in the sports world, including this Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup and the obscure prop bets that go along with the game.
