Santa Clarita Philharmonic – February 8, 2016

About the Santa Clarita Philharmonic:

The mission of the Santa Clarita Philharmonic is to preserve the art of orchestral music while providing the opportunity for amateur, retired, professional, semi-professional, and student musicians to have a rewarding outlet for their talent. The SCP is dedicated to the enhanced appreciation and understanding of orchestral music in the Santa Clarita Valley and the surrounding communities. This is accomplished by providing an open-door opportunity for musicians to play, learn and perform for others. Through this shared experience musicians realize self-potential, a spirit of generosity and opportunities for growth.

Symphony orchestras have been suffering artistically, socially and economically for decades. Our plan to preserve the art of orchestral music in the Santa Clarita Valley is threefold–first, to bring an artistic, musical, and social experience to our community through accessible orchestral music, secondly, to provide a creative outlet for proficient adult and student musicians, and thirdly, to cultivate the talent of local student musicians by instituting the Santa Clarita Philharmonic Apprenticeship Program.
