Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

The City of Santa Clarita invites community members to welcome the festively decorated Metrolink Holiday Toy Express as it stops at the Jan Heidt Newhall Metrolink Station to give holiday performances and collect donations for the “Spark of Love Toy Drive” on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

Residents are invited to greet the Holiday Toy Express and bring a new, unwrapped toy to be collected by Santa, Mrs. Claus and friends aboard the train. All toys will be donated to the Southland Firefighters’ “Spark of Love Toy Drive,” sponsored by Metrolink and ABC 7.

“The Metrolink Holiday Toy Express brings joy to the community and is a great way to help spread holiday cheer this season,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “Decorated with holiday displays and 50,000 twinkling lights, the train allows residents to donate to children in need while enjoying fun, holiday activities.”

The 41 stop tour, which passes through six counties, brings a brightly packaged gift to Metrolink communities – a 450-ton train decorated with holiday displays and delivering a live musical performance, Santa Claus and community fun.

Guests will also be treated to holiday carolers from the Canyon Theatre Guild, hot chocolate and cookies from the Old Town Newhall Association. The Newhall Metrolink Station is located at 24300 Railroad Avenue in Old Town Newhall.
