Saugus School District Centennial

ImageOn October 27th, 2008 at Bridgeport Park,
Saugus Union
School District hosted a day in the
park for students, parents and SCV residents to celebrate their 100 year
anniversary.

The first school in the District opened in Santa Clarita
in1908, after three families donated the start up costs. While the original
school closed in the 1970’s, the District continued to grow to a point where it
now educates nearly 11,000 students in 15 schools across the Valley.

Thousands turned out for the event, which included a special
booth for each of the schools, individually designed and decorated by the
students.
