Scouts Choose Leaders Of Character

khts_inthecommunityThree local couples will be honored at the fourth annual Santa Clarita Valley Leaders of Character by the Bill Hart District of the Western Los Angeles County Council of the Boy Scouts of America chapter.

Bill and Cathy Kennedy, Rick and Ann Patterson and Joe and Barbara Schulman are this year’s honorees and will be celebrated at a gala dinner September 26 at the Valencia Hyatt Regency.

The event is sponsored by Total Financial Solutions.

Honorees are chosen from those who are active in Santa Clarita Valley business, government and philanthropy.  The honor is presented annually to individuals and couples who personify the character, values, and leadership demonstrated in the Boy Scout oath and law in their daily life.

The 2009 recipients join a growing and distinguished fraternity of community and business leaders that can be counted among the Santa Clarita Valley’s Leaders of Character including past recipients: Gary and Myrna Condie, Carl and Jeri Goldman, Bob Kellar, Kevin and Marilyn Malone, Larry G. and Sue Mankin, Harold and Jacguie Petersen, Larry and Peggy Rasmussen, Dianne and Roger Van Hook, and Jim Ventress.
