The City of Santa Clarita Valley Spotlight Show – May 17, 2013

KHTS News Director Perry Smith was back at it again and for the first half of the show he spoke with Firefighter Paramedic Brian Hinsley of Fire Station 107 here in Santa Clarita.

Water Safety with Firefighter Paramedic Brian Hinsley…

Hinsley came on the program to talk about water safety in the Santa Clarita Valley putting emphasis on child drownings. He said awareness needs to be the main focus for keeping kids safe.

“The worst thing about these situations is that most of the time they are preventable,” Hinsley said. “If you have a pool you need to have several safety precautions and expect them to fail, nothing is better than 100% of the time watching your kids.”

Brian Hinsley and Perry Smith go over other water safety tips and the Water Safety Expo, listen to the whole show for all the information.

Capital Improvements In Santa Clarita With Robert Newman…

Perry Smith also spoke with Robert Newman Director of Public Works for the City of Santa Clarita about Capital improvements in the Santa Clarita Valley.
