The SCV Latino Chamber of Commerce Show – May 1, 2013

Bill Miranda and Patsy Ayala were back for the month of may and to start the show they talked about the upcoming events happening.

The first event is being put on by the Santa Clarita Valley Latino Chamber of Commerce and will take place at The Real Life Church on McBean Parkway near the Bridgeport Marketplace.

The event will feature the a screening of the award winning independent movie “Smuggled.” There will also be a question and answer session following the movie. The film attempts to answer the question, “why immigrants cross the border,” tells the story of a 9-year old boy and his mother who are smuggled in the bottom of a bus into the United States in pursuit of a better life.

They also spoke about the Cinco de Mayo event put on by the SCV Latino Chamber of Commerce. Golden Valley High School will be performing at the event and to talk about it Bill and Patsy brought on Hector Juarez Music Director at Golden Valley High School and Susie Ruffner who is a parent volunteer.

The event is going to celebrate diversity, democracy and freedom with wonderful entertainment and activities for the entire family.

Nathalia Palis, Newhall Community Center Folklorico dancers and the internationally famous D’Wilfri DanceArt and Entertainment dancers will head the entertainment.

The Newhall Library will host bilingual reading to the kids and Bill Miranda’s will be doing a book signing for his new book Profiles in Latino Courage.
