Good morning, welcome to Senior Hour on your Home Town Station AM 2012 KHTS. This is a show for and about seniors. Today our guest is Dr. Greg Jenkins of The Doctor’s Office. He is currently stuck in traffic and will be here shortly.
Today we will be talking to Dr. Jenkins about not only senior health but community health. They are a family practice clinic and voted bet family clinic for many years in the Santa Clarita Valley. They provide a tremendous service to every one. They have almost no waiting lines, so that they can take care of you immediately. The chief of staff is the head of all the doctors in the hospital. We have around five hundred doctors signed up to work there and he is the head of all that. If you had a business running a hospital, you would want independent thought in terms of the doctors and medical staff that are there. And we are self governing, and the staff elects the chief of staff, and Dr. Jenkins was elected last year and this year as the chief of staff. He has to oversee all the comities that help to run the hospital and interact with the administration to make sure that the decisions that are made there are on the side of the patient. Patient care is one of the most important things we do in a hospital.
When you say he is the head of all the doctors, does that mean everyone reports to him?
We report to him as you move up the latter through different comities, we have three comities of doctors, and there are more committee in those three groups till it gets to the executive committee which Dr. Jenkins is the head of and he will bring that to the board.
