On Monday, April 15th, The Tournament Players Club in Valencia hosted a golf scramble to raise money for the Sheriff Youth Foundation. A scramble is usually played with 4 person teams. In a scramble, all 4 players tee off on each hole, the best of the tee shots is selected, and all players play their second shot from that best spot and so on until the ball is holed. The event raised $170,000. The Sheriff Youth Foundation provides after school programs for at risk youth ages 7-17. There is currently a center in Val Verde and talks are underway to have a facility within the city of Santa Clarita.
