Sobriety Checkpoints To Be Conducted On Local Lakes

boatingDeputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Parks Bureau will conduct a Boating Under the Influence (BUI) detection and enforcement operation at both Castaic and Pyramid Lakes this weekend.

This operation is a continuing effort to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities, along with fostering a stronger and more visible deterrent to alcohol and drug use at these two lakes.

This Operation will be held Saturday, August 14 at Castaic Lake and on Sunday, August 15 at Pyramid Lake.

The Sheriff’s Department will increase its presence on the water during this operation and conduct enforcement stops and B.U.I. sobriety check points.
