Chris Mendenhall started off her latest edition of the The Credit Gal to replace Darbe Nokes while she is away. Chris has on special guest Dave Baberaki who is a local real estate agent and he shares some great information with us today. Dave shares with us about the process of selling a home and what to expect when you sell your house. Dave also talks about mortgages and where the real estate market is right now. Dave and Chris get into short sales and Foreclosures, A

short sale is a sale of real estate in which the proceeds from selling the property will fall short of the balance of debts secured by liens against the property, and the property owner cannot afford to repay the liens’ full amounts and where the lien holders agree to release their lien on the real estate and accept less than the amount owed on the debt. A Foreclosure is a specific legal process in which a lender attempts to recover the balance of a loan from a borrower who has stopped making payments to the lender by forcing the sale of the asset used as the collateral for the loan. Dave tells us that a short sales is a better situation than a foreclosure and gets into how that can affect your credit.
