Arif Halaby cracked open the first hour of the show with an exciting yet relevant new topic. Especially for our Santa Clarita Valley youth and parents alike. Arif asked his co-host Jeff Girard, “If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there”? He posed this question for two main reasons: How are you spending your money in respect for your college education and how exactly do you plan on paying for that expense (especially for the many individuals and families that do not even currently have the money required for said expenditure). The Total Financial Solutions crew really dissected the benefits and negatives of committing the oneself to decades of financial bondage via student loans for pursuing higher education. Unfortunately the value of a college education no longer outweighs the cost. Arif stresses the importance of giving your kids the opportunity to chose what they want to do – while simultaneously stressing the necessity of maintaining financial strength. Is college the best choice for a profitable future? Well, that depends on the individual’s goals, statistics show us that a college degree dramatically increases salary, however statistics also show that over half of the nation’s college graduates do not work in the field of their major.
